Growing to be a Woman Strong in the Faith

Standing on log (1)

I don’t know what made her tell me this, and she probably has no idea how her words impacted me then and even now.

She said, “I can see in your eyes that you are hurting. Go to the Bible and underline every time it says, God is your strength, God is your helper, your healer, your refuge and more things like that. Then believe it.”

Then believe it.

If you need to feel loved today, go to His word.

If you need comfort today, go to His word.

If you need encouragement, go to His word.

Wisdom? Go to His word.

Faith? Go to His word.

Then believe it. Profound.

Sit there and think on His promises. You mull over them, stir them up, dive into them, marinate in them, you repeat those verses over and over, whisper them, say them out loud, shout them if you need to! Plaster them on your wall!

Whatever it takes.

The enemy will come, he will try to squash whatever little hope or renewed dedication you have. But your faith and your hope are stronger than him. You are stronger than him. So you hold up your Bible and you say “UH UH UH! Not today. This thing says I am loved, accepted, cherished, capable…this thing says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, so you just march you and your bad self right on outta here. In Jesus name, here I stand.”

Let’s take a stand, girls.

standing on log (Verse)

If we are to thrive here, we are going to need a bit of backbone. Something that says, because I stand firm on the promises of God, I can get up and face whatever is coming my way.

I’m drawn of Pauls words to the Corinth church “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you have received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word”. (1Cor. 15:1-2)

In order for us to stand against the wiles of the enemy we are going to need to muster up a little bit of faith. We’re going to need a little bit of planning, some preparing and renewing of the mind. We are going to need to be thought up, prayed up and wisend up so that we can stand firm on that foundation.

We are going to need to get a little bit of sass going on, if you will.

For lack of better words, we are going to need a little salt in our soup. Some spice in our cake. Some conviction to our faith and start growing some meat on our spiritual bones.

We’re going to need to get our sass on.

I’m not talking about being a “Little Miss Sassy Pants”.

I’m talking about a woman on fire for the Lord, who believes what the Lord say to her and of her. One that makes the enemy quiver at the thought of her belief.

We can’t just be swayed by the false teachings of the world or any plans of the enemy. Instead, let’s come to believe that what God says, that He means. Let’s grow to understand that who He created us to be, is exactly who He created us to be.

Let us, with embolden faith, stand against any schemes the enemy may have to pry his way into our minds, ours lives, our families or our futures.

Now, sweet sister, you have Jesus on your side, so lift your darling little chin and you march head on into your day carrying your sword of truth and your shield of faith.

And when you need to, you use them.

In Jesus name, get your sass on! 🙂

It’s wonderful that no matter where we are and what we’re going through, we can always run to His word and get what we need. 🙂

We can stand firm in His promises.

    Happy weekend to you!

    Amen!
Believe what He says. Walk in it. Carry the sword and let God carry you. This post makes me want to shout! Think I’ll share it with all my sassy friends. 😉

Kaylene, how I needed to read this….to be reminded of my God, and His love and power. How I needed to be reminded that I operate in His strength. Thank you, my friend. Thank you.

I’ve got sass, you even said so yourself! 😉 Seriously though, this post rocks my face off! I love the challenge to immerse ourselves in the Word when we feel that we are lacking in anything. God has “given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Pt 1:3). I absolutely love this post!

Very well said, Kaylene! When I was a younger Christian, I used to think that just believing in God was enough. I now realize that we need to be intentional in our walk because the enemy is after us. We need not fear, but we need be diligent!

As I was reading this, 1 John 4:4 kept coming to mind: “He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.” What a promise we have in that verse!

Thanks so much for sharing this. Blessings to you and yours.

I am so glad that you share your sass with me, Kaylene!! I am right there with you– we all need a little bit of feisty as we marinate in the Word of the Lord… Because the enemy WILL. NOT. WIN.

    (Insert throat-punch to Satan here.)

Over the years I have realized more and more how important it is to be in God’s Word when I’m not struggling with something…because then when I am struggling, God’s Word is not unfamiliar. It comes to mind and I can remind myself of His promises even when my Bible is not in hand…especially when my Bible is not in hand. We need to absorb His Word so that it becomes a part of us.
Visiting from Grace & Truth today.
    God bless,
    Laura

Yes we do need to get the Word on the inside and believe it. We can only believe what we know. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word.

    Thanks for sharing!!

Just this morning, God spoke to me through 1Th. 5:8, “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” Your post confirms His words and encourages me to never let go of Him. He is the Truth.

    Thank you, Kaylene!

I need to be better at standing up to those moments that suck me dry…those moments when I feel hopeless, lost, or scared. I have come to a point where I have faith in my maker. I have faith that He knows what is best for me, but yet I still have doubt. That doubt creeps up on me and can leave me feeling stuck. But as you explain here…I just need to look to the word so that I may be reminded of His great promises.
