A Scripture Prayer for Your Husband’s Habits

A Prayer for Your Husband's Habits - Kaylene Yoder

A Prayer for Your Husband’s Habits

Father, You have sent Your Holy Spirit to live in us. Our very bodies are His temple. I pray my husband will let nothing consume his body, mind or time that would destroy him. For you have said, he who destroys Your temple You will destroy also. (1Cor.3:16-17)

I pray he will not be addicted to any  food or substance that is harmful to his health, not participating in drunkenness or gluttony. I pray he will not be tempted to sin against his body, Your temple, by using and participating in pornography, sexual immorality, orgies or the like. Keep his mind pure. Do not let him fall into the habitual ways of thinking that come from jealousy, anger, witchcraft, idolatry, or dissensions. Remove any tendencies to gratify the flesh or seek self satisfaction. (Gal.5:19-21) Do not let him be a man mastered by sinful desires. (2Pet.2:19) Instead establish in him a clean heart with motives matched by the will and strength to stand against the enemies temptations.

I stand humbly before You, Lord, asking that You keep my husband from willful sin. Do not let him be ruled by his flesh. (Ps.19:13) Surround him with Your mighty protection. Lift him when he stumbles, carry him when he is weak. Strengthen him when he is tempted, convict him to persevere in what he knows is good, for this will establish a greater faith in him. (James1) Remind him to be careful how he lives- not as unwise but as wise, making the best choice in every situation. (Eph.5:15) After he has persevered, may he praise You knowing he can do all things through Your Son who gives him strength. (Phil.4:13) In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Love the photo. Not sure of your version – NOT ESV. I think it is 2 Peter 2:19 and not 1 Peter 2:19, but I am on my phone. Like the message and theme.

Dissensions is listed twice. Is that for emphasis? 😉 I’m on Day 38 of the email series, and it has blessed me immensely! Thank you for putting it out there!

Thank You Jesus.. My simple prayer is that You would come , Holy Spirit …. soften my husbands heart……. realign Him with the mind of Christ ……
and me too. Reveal anything in our life , in our hearts that offends You according to Your word.
Thank you that You aren’t done with any of us yet … in Jesus name, Amen
