When God Calls you to the Uncomfortable {Grace & Truth}

God does a really good job of calling me to the uncomfortable.

You see, I’d rather keep the peace than stir the pot. So I often revert to the least pot-stirring comments.

I’d rather stay in my comfort zone, so I don’t bring unwanted attention to myself.

I’m outgoing and friendly. But I like safe. I really, really like safe.

Recently in a conversation that was making me uncomfortable, I kept quiet. Then a friend spoke my exact thoughts. Later I thanked her and this is what she said,

“I was afraid, so I knew I had to say something.”

A whole lot of life is about doing the hard stuff, the uncomfortable stuff, even the fear causing stuff.

Are you afraid of taking a step in faith? Are you afraid of losing a few friends for speaking the truth in love? Are you facing a decision that you know could have a huge impact on your life?

The question I’m asking myself is,

“Is my trust in the Lord greater than my fear of being uncomfortable?”

We are called to live life on the edge. We get to be safe in Him, but not necessarily in safety.
