Creating Margin for God in Your Day {Grace & Truth #7}

As soon as we get up in the morning we encounter endless demands. There’s food to prepare, kids to care for, fusses to settle, the phone, homeschool or getting the kids to school, there’s meals to plan, activities to attend… this list is wearing me out!

All day long we are worn out. We collapse into bed tired, empty , exhausted in more than just body.

We’ve become exhausted spiritually. Which, in my opinion is the epitome of exhaustion. The highest degree of tiredness. The lowest low of  weariness.

What brought us there?

Our lack of seeking God.

We have busied ourselves right out of His blessing. Maybe we’re always taking care of the blessings He’s giving us. But He desires to care for the blessing He’s created for Himself. YOU.

Setting aside time to spend with Him, creating purposeful margin in my day is the greatest soul rejuvenating practice.

This week at Grace & Truth, a few writers shared their thoughts on this subject of creating margin in our lives to spend time with our Creator.

If you are struggling to find time with your Saviour, please take a few minutes and read the following articles. Terry & Arabah Joy share so much encouragment for weary hearts seeking for the peace and comfort of a daily encounter with the Lord.

Indulge, my friend. You’ll be glad you did!

You hit the nail on the head. I just wrote a piece called “Stop” Hope it encourages you and others. Here’s a peek:
Everything moving at a dizzying pace
It begins the moment we wake up
    Feet hit the floor running.
    Go!

    The family needs this
    The boss needs that
    Who wins?

Every moment you give is theirs
    The smart phone
    A smart leash
