Like most men, my husband’s gone through periods of discouragement. Your life may be different from ours, but your husband has probably faced discouraging times too. Tight finances, illness, and problems at work cause stress. Unemployment undermines a man’s confidence.
When a man meets discouragement, a good wife can help him through it. Consider this verse:
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and
has no one to help them up.”
~Ecclesiastes 4:9-10~
As a wife we are our husband’s ‘helper-upper’. Betsy of Faith Spilling Over blog wrote a very encouraging post on this subject. Go here to read how you can support your husband when he is down.

Thanks so much for featuring me, Kaylene. Your blog blesses me. I’m enjoying the May series and reading as I can! Blessings on your weekend, friend.
I just want to encourage you, as you encourage and equip others. I appreciate your effort to keep our hearts focused on loving and blessing our husbands. Sometimes I almost feel selfish, because I know that when I take care of him, he takes care of me. 🙂
Bless you Kaylene!
Dawn
That is SO true, isn’t it! Thank you for that encouragement. I needed to hear that reminder today. <3 xoxo
