Navigating the Great Unknown {Grace &Truth #4}

The last few weeks have basically pureed my emotions.

We started 2015 with the promise of great things on the horizon, but not before a number of trials.

I wasn’t expecting to lose a grandfather and an uncle to heart attacks almost exactly two weeks apart.

I wasn’t expecting to be part of a wearying discussion with dear friends, that resulted in severed relationships, in the middle of those two weeks.

But that’s just it. We can’t expect life to always go well. Life isn’t promised. Life isn’t stable. Life isn’t always understandable.

We live in a ‘great unknown’.

But in that great unknown there is a Known. A solid Foundation. A Rock to lean on. A Rrotection through storms and Strength in the burden.

Recentering on Him, rejuvenating in His presence, we find that while all the world may be falling down around us, our hearts shattered and souls wearied, He never changes. He remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

In that we find strength to navigate the great unknowns.

My pick post from last week was The Great Unknown. A beautifully written piece by Dawn Klinge. If you, too, find yourself in a time of need, take the time to soak in Dawns encouraging words and listen to the song at the end by Hillsong.

    Thank you Kaylene. I’m so sorry about the loss of your grandfather and your uncle. It sounds like a hard few weeks. It’s good to know that we have someone we can turn to in times like that.

    I smell what you are stepping in, my friend. It has been a tumultuous few weeks/months for sure. I’m blessed to know you, and I look forward to continuing to read your heart here. So glad we are sisters in Christ.

  3. Aimee Imbeau says:

    Life is hard, we weren’t promised an easy life. But we were promised that Jesus would be our bread of life. He is our anchor and we must hold fast to Him. I’m so sorry for your losses – family and friends. I pray that God will still use these experiences to draw you closer to Him and to bring glory to His name! Which is something I know you want to do!
