Peace, Joy and My Circumstances {Grace & Truth #23}

Last week Grace & Truth seemed to hold a theme of finding peace and joy in the midst of all things chaotic. Maybe I noticed the it more because I have a post on the same coming up in a few days.

Or it could be that I am learning a few lessons in the joy and peace departments!

The truth is, we can find peace in the middle of chaos and joy in the middle of gloom.

The key is trusting that God’s sovereignty is not altered by my circumstances.

He still loves me. He still cares for me. He still has a perfect plan. You and I can trust Him for that.

There is no need for us to become disturbed. Jan Cobb gives an interesting and rather humorous definition of disturbed here. It’s a great visual! My heart laughed when I read it.  So if your peacce has been disturbed, go visit Jan’s article: Turn Our Hearts to Praise Him.

Even when we are disturbed there’s no reason for us to doubt. Elizabeth Spencer, puts it this way:

Then she gives verse supporting each point. For myself choosing joy in the middle of waiting for joy can be a trial. But then again, God’s sovereignty is not affected by my circumstances.

That has been a theme for me lately. God has a lot to teach me in that area.

Jan and Elizabeth, please grab the featured button and add it to your collection of featured buttons! Thank you for great articles. I look forward to reading more from you.

    Hello again, Kaylene. We are back from camping, so I can type “for real” now! 🙂 Thank you again for your encouragement. I love, love, love your statement of truth that “God’s sovereignty is not altered by my circumstances.” Praise The Great I AM that it is so!
