I don’t like trials.
I mean, who does? The sadness, the heaviness, the weariness… all of it. It’s not fun.
But, the truth is trials in life will come. They help us grow. They help us become more mature and wise.
I’ve been mulling over an equation of sorts lately:
Pain = growth =wisdom & greater knowledge of Truth
When I think of it that way, with a broader perspective on what trials and pain really are, I tend to have more patience while walking through them. There’s a wonderful peace in understanding that I all we need to do is choose right, stand firm and trust the Lord has our back no matter how bad things look.
Karen shared a great little article on Times of Testing. She wrote this:
“But indeed, the testings that God sends to His children are for the purpose of drawing them into closer dependence upon Him.”
